Sussex FDG Annual Auction
The Branch organises an annual auction of fishing tackle, fly tying equipment and materials, flies, books and other fly fishing relating ephemera. Currently this is held on a club evening in either October or November. In the last few years this auction has been a great success so much so that two evenings are now required for all of the lots. See the programme for the date(s) of the auction this year.
There is no buyers commission on any lots bought i.e. what the hammer price is that is what you pay. However there is a sellers commission of 10% which is deducted from the hammer price.
The auction is a great opportunity to pick up a bargain or generate some cash for yourself by selling unused items lurking in your cupboards, garage, shed etc.
To submit items for the next auction please download the auction entry form and return it to Roy Gurney ASAP.
Items submitted to the auction must be brought to the auction on the night (in time for the viewing, which precedes the auction) or must be given to a committee member well in advance of the auction.
Bidders must register on the night, although if you are a member of the branch and are unable to attend you may leave a bid for an item on the book with Roy Gurney.
The auction catalogue will be produced shortly before the auction and can be viewed or downloaded here. Please keep an eye on the website news page for details of when the catalogue becomes available.
The auction catalogue for 2010 is not yet available, please try again within two weeks of the auction date. The auction date can be found here in our programme.
